Hi,

great news olderzeus!
I'm eager to try!

Do you have a howto for installing new(est) OMV?

EDIT: wheezy runs like a charm!

Added OMV repo and tried to install OMV (Sardaukar), but run into unmet dependencies: php5-pam, scponly and php5-proctitle:-(
Somebody knows solution?

Do you want OpenWRT?

Hi olderzeus,

Cheers for creating this..

Will have a play with this today.

1 question if I may.. The how-to does not include what is to be done with the remaining .tgz/. filess in the download dir,

hmnhdce-openwrt-rootfs.tgz
hmnhdce-modules.20140115.tgz
hmnhdce-uImage.20140115

Many thanks

The 'modules' file should be extracted in the root of the filesystem. It contains the kernel modules 'drivers', which are located in /lib/modules/<kernel-version>/

The openwrt file contains an alternate rootfs which you can use instead of the wheezy rootfs to get OpenWRT instead of Debian.

Thanks for the info Mijzelf,

Does anyone know a good alternative to OMV (squeeze only) that will work on wheezy?

Cheers

Hello!

I would like to thank you for this new kernel. i just finished booting it up.
the only problem that im facing right now is the fact that i cant use the eth0 at 1Gbps (same issue i had with the old kernel).
Any idea why is this happening?

Thanks anyway.

Hi,

Could someone provide kernel with Quota (ACL?) module enabled?
Or at least info how to compile it with this module?

It's required (recommended) by OpenMediaVault and with this Kernel I'm getting

Code: Select all

EXT4 ERROR - EXT4-fs (): acl option not supported
XFS ERROR - XFS (): quota support not available in this kernel
when OMV tries to mount a partition.

I think it's the last thing to have OMV 0.5 fully working on HMNHDCE.

Found this hope it helps:

Download sources from olderzeus repo

to generate old u-boot compatible uImage

ARCH=arm make ox820_defconfig

ARCH=arm make menuconfig

Boot options --->

[*] Use appended device tree blob to zImage (EXPERIMENTAL)

[*] Supplement the appended DTB with traditional ATAG informati

you may also want to disable PCI support if you device does not have one

ARCH=arm make -j8 zImage ox820.dtb

cat arch/arm/boot/zImage arch/arm/boot/dts/ox820.dtb > arch/arm/boot/zImage.fdt

/bin/sh scripts/mkuboot.sh -A arm -O linux -C none -T kernel -a 0x60008000 -e 0x60008000 -n 'Linux-3.11.1+' -d arch/arm/boot/zImage.fdt arch/arm/boot/uImage

Ok.

So i successfully built the nls modules for fat32 mounting which is great.

i also built the xfs and ext4 modules that paq85 requires.

anyone care to test them for me?

download here https://www.dropbox.com/s/1dsuuaecijmwf ... LES.tar.gz

copy this file to /

then run as root

tar -xvf HMNHDCE_MODULES.tar.gz

then run

depmod

as root

then try to mount a fat32 usb stick does it work?
