IOMEGA Home Media Cloud Edition

Post by Zap » Mon Aug 18, 2014 11:24 am

My First Post.... :(

I have had this device for two years now.. yesterday I did a soft restart and the White LED kept blinking. I have no access to the NAS anymore.
I do not wish to do a Hard Reset/Factory Reset before I can rescue my Data
Can you Please advise:

- Can I recover my Data and How? If its possible then can I move it into a Windows compatible hard drive?
- If I can recover my data can I fix the problem with the blinking lights - gain normal access to the NAS and restore the recovered data.
- is there step by step instructions as I am lame in Linux.

If you're still looking for help, then start downloading Live Linux ISO, that is if you don't have one. Ubuntu based preferred.
Couple of times I had to do data copy (not really recovery, just to speed things up) from the bare iomega drive to my local drive by taking it out of enclosure and connecting it directly to computer. If you're up for it let me know. I've done it awhile ago, it's not difficult. I just need to refresh it in my memory. Don't loose your cool buddy.
