Question about turning the HMNHD into a router

Post by Noxes » Thu Dec 04, 2014 11:07 pm

I have had a thought about the possibility of turning the HMNHD into a router since it has a gigabit Ethernet port and another one can easily be added onto one of the available USB ports.

I know that you can turn archlinux distro into a basic router via the following tutorial https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/router, however I was wondering whether anyone here knew how to install something along the lines of OpenWrt on there.

As far as I know OpenWrt is compatible with the ARM architecture. Just looking for general directions since I have no idea how to start something like this.

Thanks for your time. 8-)

There is some openwrt support for the Medion STG212. That box is similar to the HMNHD-CE (same soc). The main difference is that the Medion boots from flash, while the Iomega boots from harddisk.

With some small adjustments it should be able to install it.
