Hi I 've tried the full recovery of HMNHD -CE 2TB , everything works fine , I can access the web administration but there is no storage space available.
"Could not initialize storage area manager" in log section.
"The selected function is not available due to the state of the pools" in add a share folder.
"Available storage: 0" in Managing Drives
any can help me?

thank in advance.

PD: in http://iomega.nas-central.org/wiki/Reco ... e_Media_CE) in Recovery Boot section say "Wait until HMNHDCE powers down on its own.", but never power down, i think it reboot, I have waited almost 15 minutes and then income through web administration, I can access and view everything but without storage available

Right. Your whole data partition is lacking. Here you can see how the disk should be divided. Use 'parted' to add a second partition sda2. Then use mdadm to create a raid array in it.
Code:
mdadm --create /dev/md1 /dev/sda2 -n 1 -l raid1
Then create the volume group
Code:
vgcreate abcdef01_vg /dev/md1
the logical volume
Code:
lvcreate lv12345678 abcdef01_vg
and finally put a filesystem on it
Code:
mkfs.xfs /dev/abcdef01_vg/lv12345678

Reboot the box. If any of the commands fail, it makes no sense to continue, as they depend on each other.

hi!, everything look good, but, no mount file system on reboot. i need to do manually in shell console and the resource is not available in web interface.

(i run a pvcreate before lvcreate) without this i cant create lv volumen.

sorry, more info. wen the system reboot the mount point for this lv disappears (/mnt/pools/A/A0)

kmdir /mnt/pools/A/A0, but when reboot are blank /mnt/pools/xxxx.

Hm. I dived in the initrd scripts, and found that the imager does not create the data partition and/or the logical volume on it.

So apparently the user volume is create by the firmware, on first boot, or on user action. Are you sure there is no 'create volume' option in the webinterface?
According to this wiki page, the names of the volume group and logical volume should be different. Don't know if that means that the names are actually random, or that the CE is different from other Lifeline devices.

Are you sure there is no 'create volume' option in the webinterface?

yes, but "0 free space for create volume"

maybe im in the wrong section? i can't fine any option to manage the 1.8tb of disk space to create new volume.

i reboot it 4 times, but, nothing.

I found a post where he said that to solve the problem of 0 space, need to do a factory reset, prove the full erase and the fast erase, but wen reboot nothing again.

very estrange. :?

any suggestion?

ok, finnaly i can do the job.

the fast restet could create the volume and file sharing, but, i created the lv and pv first as you have told me. and then I made a fast reset. Above with a clean installation of the first 32m and then install the firmware with USB drive process, did not work the fast reset. not whether coincidence or something I did wrong, but now everything is fine.
