Hello ptelleria,

Thanks for the reply. Seems one of my leds file is different from yours, which may be causing the issue.

However, I can't write the file, even logged in as root and with chmod 777 on the file/directory.

I'll keep trying anyway.

Thanks a lot!

for solving mount problem with EXT3 or EXT4, read http://forums.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/6143-OMV-1-0-29-Partition-mount-problem/?postID=58099#post58099

Alright, seems it did the trick. Thanks again, ptelleria.

However.... (I hate it!): can't create any share.

I go, for instance, to Access Rights Management > Shared Folders, then in the popup window, when I click the Volume dropdown, nothing is shown.

Same thing when trying to create a new share at Services > SMB/CIFS.

Clues?

Thank you.

its the mount problem.
do as written in that other post (or reopen there): edit config.xml manually, then omv-mkconf fstab, then edit fstab, then restart.

Hello again.

Yes, I did as the post tells to, but no luck.

/dev/sda2 is mounting on boot, but still have no device listed on "volume" when trying to add a shared folder for instance. :(

Any more ideas? I'm getting pissed off...

Is there a way to update the kernel? I'm thinking the modded kernel is the source of all issues...

Thanks!

Code:

Hello ptelleria,

Thanks, but I'm giving up.

I'm having way too many crashes. I can't even move files to the HDD, because it freezes/crashes (I need to restart it to make it work again).

I do appreciate all your help, but it isn't worth the headache. I'll try to revert to the stock firmware and move on.

Cheers.

Note: for those interested, maybe a look at this Openmediavault forum thread may be instructive.

Weird...
i understand, but perhaps its something about the samba config...
for me it runs better than the stock, which forze or crashed once every 10 days or so. Plus there is SMART for keeping ghe HD (mine blew after 2 years  ), torrents work better...
but hey, if its too many errors, then revert, its straightforward

AND finally OMV 1.9 is up and running.
Now to the SHARE issue.
I have no access to the SDA2 file system, OMV says it is just a "ext3" partition, but that's it.
Can't mount it

Just a question...

What version of OMV are you actually running?

the problem is that this wheezy for ARM doesn't support quota, so you need to trick OMV for mounting, and then be able to use shares.
another issue is ACL, which for the moment I can't do via GUI (I think its related), but do via CLI. I haven't invested much time on it, as I have done in CLI, and it has been for just a couple of things.

DLNA and Transmission working nicely, no hangs

Now with 1.10 and reformat of the data partition to EXT4 from CLI things are fine.
I am digging the RTCWAKE command, which does not seem to work

How did you install 1.10? I've been trying to find how, but had not even a hint.

Thanks.

Hello,

Any solution about the leds?

I can not edit the file and change the line:

Code:
[root@DDE01:~]$.cat /sys/class/leds/status:system:ok/trigger
none satadisk nand-disk timer oneshot heartbeat [default-on]

to
Code:
[root@DDE01:~]$.cat /sys/class/leds/status:system:ok/trigger
[none] satadisk nand-disk timer oneshot heartbeat default-on
