part number for original power adapter?

Post by sshin » Thu Dec 24, 2015 5:09 pm

I bought a 12VDC 3A adapter for my IOmega EZ Media but it has a 5.5mm x 2.5mm plug. I need a 5.5mm X 2.1mm jack. The connection is intermittent, so I am looking on eBay for the OEM replacement.
I searched this forum, and looked at Lenovo and IOmega support but did not find any power adapter part numbers.

I can probably use any generic adapter that is rated over 2.5A ( the peak power spec for the NAS is 25W for 5 seconds) but if I can find the OEM part on Ebay I would buy it.

Thanks!

0n 29 December 2015 I went to my local electronics surplus shop http://www.greybears.org/thrift-store/g ... ter-store/, dug through the bins (leaving them neater than I found them) and came up with only two adapters (out of perhaps 20 units in the 12VDC bin) that had the right connector. I Brought the 5 Amp model home, $5.

I wonder what else uses the 5.5mm X 2.1mm connector, and why in the world there came to be two versions.

Problem solved, moving on to other things.
