I compiled reloaded.ko kernel module by Mijzelf too with some warnings but no erros:

But was unable to boot my own eTrayz kernel from usb (using it with my own cross-compiled kernel based on etrayz source with usb support and squeezy armel rootfs with udev from lenny). With no serial console im blind :(
Can you post your reloaded.sh and boot dir contents?

Thanks in advance

Ok, I attach my reloaded.ko for etrayz kernel 2.6.24.4 and my reload.sh script.
Make sure you put your own mac_address in and your correct usb boot device!
Also pay attention to the fact that reloaded.ko will boot a 'zImage' kernel...
suc6! ;)
edit: seems I'm not allowed to upload these files. I will upload somewhere else and post link...
here we go:

Thanks your reply.

After "reload-etrayz.sh /dev/sdc1" looks like hdd read/write a couple of seconds at insmod command and etrayzs usb led start blinking and stay unresponsive...

Usb stick ext3 formatted with debian-6.07-armel rootfs with udev from lenny
my boot dir files:
initrd (empty file)
reload.sh
uImage
zImage (extracted from uImage: dd if=uImage of=zImage bs=64 skip=1)

Im a bit lost.
Are you using etrayz kernel (uImage) and its modules as is, copied on usb stick?
A custom kernel with no cmdline? or a custom kernel with the same cmd line from etrayzs /proc/cmdline?

Is that correct usb device ? Look at my remarks earlier...

zImage (extracted from uImage: dd if=uImage of=zImage bs=64 skip=1)
The zImage is in the arch compile tree as a separate image, no extraction from uImage.
What compile chain are you using ?
Im a bit lost.

Using the zImage, reloaded.ko and reload.sh, I uploaded and 2.6.24.4 kernel modules from the compilation. I only included the usb drivers in my compiled kernel...
Thats it, maybe experiment some more... goodluck !

I see... So reloaded.ko will boot a 'zImage' kernel and uImage is not needed. I thought that both was needed so i vas compiling kernel with "make -C kernel uImage"

Im cross compiling kernel under Ubuntu 12.10, installed for task, with this params:
export ARCH=arm
export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabihf-

Seems that here is my error, i think. Im gonna start it over and emulate an ARM Plaform with QEMU to try to see what is happening.

Thank you so much

No possibile!
You will have to compile a fresh uBoot from source (see title of this thread), because the current uBoot has no usb support...
I'm still trying to get hold of uBoot sources for oxnas...
You're welcome to join the quest... :)

There must be an easier way of installing debian without surgically opening etrayz and tinkering with the serial cable.

Is it possible for you to create an image of your system partition so the rest of us non-experts can simply write it on our drives?

Xtreamer just officially dropped the etrayz application installer. No more web apps can be installed anymore, :(

I can probably try another distro such as archlinux arm so I can contribute in this forum.

But first, I really need a step-by-step detail on how you installed debian on yours. Youre not keeping it to yourself are you?
