HDD replacement

Post by kitikoi » Sat Feb 08, 2014 9:01 am

Hi,

My HDD crashed on my medion P89630, et i wonder how it is possible to replace HDD? i didn't found anything. Have i only to put a new HDD formated in a specific file type, and NAS recreates folders and partitions? It would be too simple...

If someone has tips...

Thanks!

Seb

This thread suggests that you only have to put in an empty disk. Which is normal for a ZyXEL nas.

thanks a lot for the link. Do you think hdd has to be formated in a specific format? because mine is formated in ntfs. when i use wizard installation, it says unable to mount volume.

thanks again

An empty disk is empty, and so contains no filesystem. In practice this means that you'll have to remove all partitions.
