Hi

Medion Tweaks - Intercept copy button

Can I put in the command reboot in the long press field or is this too dangerous?
When I tick "Beep on intercept" is it right it beeps six times?

Kind regards
McMelloW

If you enabled the 'Fake powerdown' option you can safely reboot that way. (Without that option rebooting isn't safe at all. The box will reboot with the data partition mounted).

And yes, six beeps sounds OK. Actually it beeps for 2 seconds, when I remember well. The beep utility only supports a time, not a number.

Thanks,

Yes, the 'Fake powerdown' option is enabled. For my understanding, with this enabled, the disk will be unmounted and spinned down, network down. Before the actual reboot is done?

Not really. The 'Fake powerdown' is actually implemented as a blocking reboot.

In pseudocode:
Code:
<crappy medion code which doesn't unmount the disk>

<my injected code>
while still something mounted
    unmount it

if poweroff
   switch off disk
if not wake on lan needed
      switch off lan
   wait for magic packet

end of code. Now it's up to the kernel
So when rebooting your disk is unmounted, and then the actual reboot is done. When you 'power off' the disk is unmounted, and switched off, and the device waits forever on a magic packet (Which will not arrive if the network is down).
