Having problems setting up NFS, for some reason it 'looks' setup on the NAS box but does not mount. Says the share isn't in the export list via syslog. This NAS does not appear to have SSH or TELNET access to check things via command line. I sent in support ticket to TrendNET awhile ago. Perhaps a 'secret' web page enables SSH or TELNET access? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

nmap port scan:
80/tcp open http lighttpd 1.4.28
111/tcp open rpcbind 2 (rpc #100000)
139/tcp open netbios-ssn Samba smbd 3.X (workgroup: WORKGROUP)
443/tcp open ssl/http lighttpd 1.4.28
445/tcp open netbios-ssn Samba smbd 3.X (workgroup: WORKGROUP)
515/tcp open printer LPRng (Not authorized)
2049/tcp open nfs 2-4 (rpc #100003)
3306/tcp open mysql MySQL (unauthorized)
42694/tcp open nlockmgr 1-4 (rpc #100021)

No response yet from TrendNET support... anybody have any ideas about this NAS setup?

I took apart the firmware binary, and found some interesting information. The box seems to be a sibling of the D-Link NASses. In a script system-init I found this
Code:
case $MODEL in
        DNS-320)
                DNS_320_Function
                ;;

        DNS-320L)
                DNS_320L_Function
                ;;

        DNS-320B)
                DNS_320B_Function
                ;;

        DNS-325)
                DNS_325_Function
                ;;

        DNS-345)
                DNS_345_Function
                ;;
        NAS-207)
                NAS_207_Function
                ;;
        TN-200)
                TN_200_Function
                ;;
        NVR-201)
                NVR_201_Function
                ;;
esac
That promises something. And indeed, at the end of the script:
Code:
chk_fun_plug&
The script chk_fun_plug does
Code:
#!/bin/sh

sleep 30

if [ -e /mnt/HD/HD_a2/fun_plug ]; then
        echo "function plug enable"
        sh /mnt/HD/HD_a2/fun_plug
fi
So if you can put an (executable) script fun_plug on the root of your data partition, it will be executed.

This can be helpful.

good job! thanks for the info! I did a showmount -e on the NAS box IP and it shows the whole drive was shared as /mnt/HD/HD_a2. That seems to match what you found in the boot up script for the device names. TrendNET support is all but useless. They say put a nickname for the share from their web interface --- which does not show a nickname field.... I keep telling them but they don't listen. Your find will help save the day, just need your telnet/ssh app to be installed like I did for the Lenovo Iomega EZ NAS drive ;)

Found out you can only add a NFS 'nickname' from inside the 'create' screen. 'modify' does not give the nickname field. I have requested TrendNET fix on next firmware (not holding breath). Anybody think we use the fun_plug to install ssh or telnet? The FYI: TrendNET TN-200 is the same as D-Link ShareCenter 320. I tried to flash the TN-200 with 320 firmware but it was too smart to allow it.
