My NAS with 2 disk RAID0 stopped working (Buffalo LS Pro Duo). Says one drive has too many bad sectors.... is there a way to scan and fix bad sectors from windows?
I have it connected via USB and an 8hs scan from WD software said it had bad sectors but there was no fix options... is there any SW that can fix it at a higher level?
Thanks!

Re: fix NAS drive from windows
I'm afraid that are 'hard' bad sectors. Normally a disk has a few hundreds of spare sectors. When during operation a 'normal' sector appears to be bad, it is logically exchanged by a spare sector. But when the disks degrades and gets a lot of bad sectors, at some moment there are no more spare sectors, and the existence of the bad sector is passed to the OS.
There is no way to repair such a sector. It's damaged, and can only be avoided by the filesystem.
