Hi all, I am trying to help a friend whose MyBook Live just stopped working, indicating a red front light and seem to be forever running in boucle from the sound it makes.

The drive isn't available from the network

Any tips to try access and recover its data?

Thank you

'Boucle'?
Anyway, I'm afraid the internal disk died. You can get out the internal disk, and connect it to a Linux PC. If you are lucky, the disk isn't dead, but maybe the power supply. In that case it might mount right away.
If the disk is not dead, but gives I/O errors, you can try to create a raw copy using dd_resque, to another disk of at least the same size. If you go that path, make sure that you can leave the system copying for several days, before starting.
