The current ReadyNAS models (DUO and NV+) both have a 3.3v TTL serial port in the back panel, accessibe from the otside by removing a small sticker.

Couting from the reset button and up:

1. GND
2. RXT
3. TXD
4. VCC 3.3v

Details can be found from http://debugmo.de/?p=24

I used a FTDIChip cable "TTL-232R-3V3" 6-pin and moved some of the pins into a 4-slot connector.

What worked for me was (counting from the reset button):

1. Ground (Black)
2. TXD (Orange)
3. RXD (Yellow)
4. Open

Remember, this is a null cable arrangement, CROSSOVER REQUIRED!

Using a PuTTY session set for COM3,115200,8,N,1,XON/XOFF
I was able to access the unit.
