Hi,

I have been experimenting with a P4 PC and Nas4Free software but am concerned about the running costs of the host PC. When running and streaming HD video it draws 0.2A on a 240V supply. If my power vendor is charging me 9.3 pence (UK£) per kWh, how do I calculate how much it will cost to run for a year (24H x 365D)...

I have a couple of D-Link ShareCenters and would be interested to compare the running costs...

Many thanks

Your system draws 0.2A on 240V, which equals to 48VA, which roughly equals to 48W. Which means you are using 1 kWh each (1000/48) = 20.8 hour, which is 421 kWh/year, which equals £40/year. (You British did change the current system, didn't you? 100 pennies in 1 pound?)
