zcat combines the function of gunzip and cat. The command 'zcat Iomega-HMNHD-CE-1st-32M.img.gz | dd of=/dev/sdX bs=1M' can be replaced by

Code: Select all

cat Iomega-HMNHD-CE-1st-32M.img.gz | gunzip | dd of=/dev/sdX bs=1M
Almost all 2 disk NASses, including the ix2-200, can run fine on only one disk. But if you had a 2 disk JBOD or raid0 system, and one disk died, your data is lost, and you'll have to re-arrange the data volume.

I don't understand. If you had an ix2-200 which worked, and after that one disk died, it should still work on the remaining disk. So why do you need recovery?

Here is the recovery file for the ix2-200 CE. Unzip it to a FAT formatted USB stick, of at least 1GB.

If it doesn't work, you probably have a 'classic' ix2-200. Then you'll have to rename a directory. The stick contains a directory emctools/XX200dYY/, where I can't remember the values for XX and YY. 200d has to be renamed to 200, or the other way around.
You'll have to apply the stick, then rename the directory back, and apply it the second time. The first time will flash a new kernel (and turn the box in a CE), the second time will format the disk.

Mijzelf thanks for quick reply!

Ok I done full recovery procedure on Iomega

Power off HMNHDCE by pulling the power cord.
Put the prepared USB-Stick in.
Press and hold Reset-Button while plugging in power cord (refer to [picture], use a needle or similar tool).
Release the button when the activity LED of the USB-Stick starts to flicker.
Wait until HMNHDCE powers down on its own.
Pull the stick.
Pull the power cord and reattach it to reboot.
NAS starting and after moment start red light lighting

no access by web just nothing ...

Thanks

You did not use the ix2-200 usb stick in combination with the Iomega-HMNHD-CE-1st-32M.img.gz, did you?

The disk is not initialized right. The 900+GB unpartitioned space should have had a partition on it, so somehow the initial setup failed. You can try to offer the usb stick a 2nd time. If that doesn't work you can try another usb stick, and if that doesn't work you'll need to hook up a serial port, I'm afraid.

Don't know. Do you have a reason to suspect the disk? In that case I'd concentrate on that. And else, well, you'll need a serial connection.

No I not really suspect disc
I got this disc from second hand and working but not really good when I try add user or something else shows The selected function is not available due to the state of the pools.
So I try make recovery but not help so I format this disc on windows try use like normal disc and working fine
so I try make full recovery but not working
